Parking warning outrage

-

Drivers who continue to park wherever they like at University Hospital Wishaw will be forced to start following the rules next year. Following years of parking woes for staff and patients at the busy hospital, NHS Lanarkshire is planning to bring in a car parking management system into play in 2019. The decision caused quite a storm on our Facebook page. Staff can’t get a parking place at the start of their shift which results in parking on a kerb to get into work on time.

Then they are penalised for it with a warning sticker.

Build a multi storey and solve the problem. Thomas Green I understand the car park is not big enough but people who park in disabled bays without tickets are selfish and irresponsible.

I was down at hospital with my mum and we had to park miles away from building as we couldn’t get a disabled ticket and I think there was only about one car had a ticket on show. Susan Dickie It’s not selfish parking, the issue is lack of parking.

I’ve missed treatments due to being late trying to get parked. Ashley Simpson They had a staff only carpark but staff still parked in the front of the hospital car park.

I saw only two blue badges shown in the disabled spaces.

Other cars parked had no badges displayed at A&E parking when I tried to park . John Murray
