United video is online hit

-

Newmains United’s Christmas message has reached over 20,000 people in less than a week.

But the brains behind the film admits there was a time she thought she would be starring in front of the camera, not behind it.

Motherwell-born Hannahwilson directed and edited the 67-second video, which was broadcast for the first time lastthursday.

Based on the famous Holidays Are Coming Coca-cola advert, the message, made in association with club sponsors Layher and I-scaff, has been a hit on social media.

Former Scotland goalkeeper Rab Douglas was among a host of people who commented on the footage, which stars Newmains United’s players, their kids and club kitman David Robertson as Father Kitsmas.

Hannah pieced together a scene-by-scene script ahead of a chilly day of filming at Layher’s Scottish HQ with camera operator Elizabeth Brown.

She said:“the team were excellent to work with.the players showed great patience and resilience as the temperature plummeted.

“I was also impressed with the talent the kids showed and how eager they were to get involved. I think there are some budding stars there!”

Hannah is currently setting up her own company Barbara Hannah Films.

United chairman Stuart Mackenzie said the club were impressed by the high level of the film and stunned by the reaction to it.

He said:“we are hugely grateful to the time and effort put into this project by Hannah and Elizabeth and would like to thank them both for all their hard work.”
