Third album from band

-

Lanarkshire bandthe Lafontaines released their third album last week and it is set to be the best one yet.

The trio of Kerr Okan, Jamie Keenan and Darren Mccaughey have been working extremely hard to produce new music and are delighted with the final product.

Now with the release of their immense third album, Junior, the band are finally at a point where they feel they have truly nailed what they want to be.

Kerr said:“i wanted to make a concise Lafontaines album.

“Over the ten-year lifespan of the band, we’ve finally figured out just what we sound like.

“We’re lucky to have toured all over the world and that’s helped us find out what works and to have been able to refine the sound.

“It’s called Junior as it feels like that’s us finally finishing junior football and we’re about to jump up to semi-pro.that was the idea before any music was even written.

“It sums up what we’re all about and it’s genuinely the best music we’ve ever made.”

Junior is a testament to not only their work ethic, but their desire to keep evolving.

Kerr said:“the days of taking two or three years between albums are gone. You need one almost every year.

“They’re just another form of promotion to get people to your shows.

“Albums don’t really sell in the way they used to. It’s just about getting people to come to gigs.

“It’s a testament to the work we put in on the records that the shows keep getting bigger, they sell out down south and more people know who we are.that’s great for us.”

Junior follows 2017’s Common Problem and their 2015 debut Class, which saw them hit top spot in the Indie Breakers Chart and make thetop 10 in the Scottish charts.

Renowned for their electrifying live shows, the band have previously been on tour with Anderson Paak, twin Atlantic and Alltime Low, and last year were the main support to Don Broco across Europe.
