Will have their holiday club today (Wednesday, July 3) until Friday, July 5 from 10am till 1pm for children of primary school age. Youngsters are asked to bring their own lunch. The toddlers’ group is now on holiday. On Thursday evening, the prayer meeting is at 7pm. Friday club and the JAM club are now on holiday for the summer. This Friday, July 5, the annual district masters parade will assemble at the hall at 6.40pm to move off at 6.45pm. The return parade leaves the RWDM’S house, assembling at 8.10pm to move off at 8.15pm and proceeding to the hall. On Saturday, July 6, the annual district masters parade will assemble at 75 Currieside Avenue at 8am to move off at 8.10am, and then proceed to the hall for the Boyne celebratio­n divine service, which will be held at approximat­ely 9am. The Boyne celebratio­n parade will then assemble at 9.20am to move off at 9.30am. The return parade assembles at Cemetery Road at approximat­ely 6.20pm to move off at 6.30pm and parade to the hall. Entertainm­ent for members and guests this Saturday, July 6, is dancing to Carol Paris. On Sunday, July 7, the after walk party afternoon will start at 1pm. SHOTTS COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Shotts member R Shearer has got through to tonight’s (Wednesday) senior singles at Houldswort­h at 6.30pm. The senior Friendship Day game will be played on Thursday, July 4 at 11am and is sponsored by J M Roy. July 6 sees the gents two bowl singles at 1pm, followed with bingo and dancing to Leon Anderson. Promiscuou­s 1-2-3 game will be played on July 13 at 2pm, followed with bingo and dancing to Billy, the One Man Band. Upcoming fixtures include July 17, ladies invitation triples at 10am and July 20, Pettigrew Cup at 1pm, followed with bingo and dancing to Joe Watt.

CHURCH

The lunch club runs on Mondays and Wednesdays in the senior citizens’ centre. YOUTH GROUP

The youth group gather on Fridays, from 7pm till 9pm in the senior citizens’ centre; new members are welcome.

William Colquhoun Memorial LOL 152 will hold its regular monthly meeting this Thursday, July 4 at 7pm in the senior citizens’ centre.

Members of lodge 152 and ladies lodge 223 are reminded that the Worshipful Master will be uplifted at 7.30am on Saturday from Allanton Miners’ Social club.

The lodges will then be accompanie­d by Paisley Protestant Flute Band for the Boyne celebratio­ns which are this year’s being held in West Calder.

A disco and harmony will be held that night in the miners’ scoial club from 7.45pm till late; admission costs £3, payable at the door. MINERS’ SOCIAL CLUB

Allanton Miners’ Social Club have entertainm­ent for members and guests throughout the week. On Tuesday, there will be indoor bowls, pool and darts from 7pm till 11pm.

On Thursday, there is bingo with play your cards, pool and darts from 7pm till 1pm. On Friday, there is pool, darts and karaoke in the refurbishe­d lounge at 7.30pm with free entry.

The morning service in Overtown Parish Church this Sunday is at 11am, with a creche for younger children. All visitors to the church are welcome. LUNCH CLUB
