Robyn’s a class act
returning to school this week, she will be staying off trampolines for the forseable future.
She added: “I’ll be crashing a couple of Highers and doing Advanced Highers as well but I am so pleased to have got everything I wanted last year. “I think I will enjoy this year a lot more. “My leg is almost healed although I struggle to walk long distances.
“I won’t be going back on the trampoline though!”
Coltness High head teacher John Mcgilp said: “Lauren’s results were tremendous given the time off she had from school on the back of a very bad leg break.
“This is very much down to the hard work of both Lauren herself and the teaching staff in the school supporting her.
“I am delighted for Lauren as she is a cracking individual who brings a lot to the school outside of academia.” A Wishaw schoolgirl followed last year’s perfect exam performance with five Higher A passes this time around.
Seventeen- year- old Robyn Finlayson smashed her exams in English, maths, chemistry, physics and business management.
And the Coltness High pupil was delighted to find her hard work had paid off.
She said: “I was hoping for five As but when I found out I was so happy and a bit relieved.
“My mum, dad and wee sister were really pleased for me as well.
“I would say maths is my strongest subject but that exam was very tough.”
Robyn’s results means she can now look forward to university life following her final year at school.
However, far from taking it easy during this school year she will be crashing Higher human biology as well as Advanced Higher maths, physics and chemistry.
“I’m undecided about what to do at university,” said Robyn.
“I would like to do medicine but I would also like to do aeronautical engineering.
“I’m just glad I’ve got the chance to do either one.”
Coltness High head teacher John Mcgilp was full of praise for Robyn and other students who achieved excellent results.
He said: “We are very proud of all our young people and their achievements with us seeing significant gains in most measures across year groups.
“I was delighted to see that Robyn got straight As at Higher this year.
“As well as being academic Robyn is a lovely girl who essentially has the world at her finger tips.”
