Concert Hall packed as huge charity fundraiser raises cash for good causes

-

A ladies sparking vintage tea, organised by Wishaw women, raised thousands of pounds for two charities.

The event, held at Motherwell Concert Hall, and organised by Kirsty Mccourt, Lynsey Mccallum and Kathleen Macgregor, saw a grand total of £4400 being raised.

This cash will be split evenly between the Les Hoey Dreammaker Foundation and the Beatson Cancer Charity.

The superb total means the ladies have now smashed through the £20,000 barrier since they began their event a number of years ago.

A delighted Lynsey told the Wishaw Press: “We had a fantastic day and it was great that we managed to raise such a large amount.

“We had over 300 women in the hall and there was plenty for them to see and do.”

The concert hall was flooded with killer heels, vintage frocks and champagne as hundreds of woman came together to raise funds.

A “butt naked” butler set the ladies’ pulses racing, everyone was served a two course dinner while Jubilee (duo Billy Warren and Justine Wilson) kept everyone entertained throughout the night.

And there was also a chance to win a number of prizes which kept everyone happy.

However, the biggest winners on the night were the two charities who benefited from the ladies’ generosity.

Lynsey added: “We have supported the Dreammaker Foundation in previous years and they do such great work with kids.

“Myself and Kirsty know a number of people who have been to the Beatson so it was great to be able to support them.

“We have been doing this for a few years now and lots of people have said that they can’t wait for next year.

“We are shattered at the moment though!”
