On song for autumn

-

There are lots of events and shows upcoming at the East Kilbride Arts Centre and the town’s Village Theatre this month.

On Friday, October 4, the UK’s number one award winning tribute to The Drifters, The Four Tops and The Temptations, will be in town.

In fact, the group’s name, Soul Kinda Wonderful, was inspired by a classic hit.

This fabulous group formed over a decade ago and relight the magic of that splendid era, breathing new life into fabulous songs such as Saturday Night at the Movies, Under the Boardwalk, Spanish Harlem, My Girl, Stand By Me, Up on the Roof, plus many more great soul and Motown hits. Soul Kinda Wonderful are delighting audiences with their nostalgic choice of some of the Best Songs ever written.

On Saturday October 5, Baftanominated Darren Connell will be performing.

Best known for portraying the lovable Bobby Muir on BBC Scotland’s ‘Scot

Squad’, he brings dark, twisted and hilarious comedy to East Kilbride.

Prepare to see Darren as you’ve never seen him before. Dry, surreal and stripped back stand-up comedy.

Who knows what issues Connell will raise in his latest show, Abandon All Hope?

Guitarist Fraser John Lindsay and his Blues Incentive have become a welcome addition to the thriving Glasgow music scene with electrifying Australian-born singer Charlotte Marshall and many other great performers.

Over the last three years Fraser has performed live at Paisley Arts Centre with some of the best and hardest working musicians on the Scottish live music scene, showcasing his band’s unique blend of blues, rock n’roll and jazz influences with plenty of improvisation.

The band have recently launched their latest album of their 2017 concert at Paisley Arts Centre.

Fraser will be in East Kilbride Arts Centre on October 18.
