Teeninhorrorattack
A 14-year-old knife-wielding thug, who ripped open a teenager, repeatedly striking him on the head, has been remitted to the Children’s Panel for sentence.
The young yob carried out a vicious attack on a 16-year-old boy on Whifflet Street, Coatbridge, on April 3, 2019.
Airdrie Sheriff Court heard this week from Prosecutor Annette Ward how the boy from Wishaw, and who cannot be named for legal reasons, punched his victim on the head and repeatedly struck him on the head with a knife to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
The boy denied carrying a knife in public, which was accepted by the Crown.
Ms Ward, who moved for sentence, told the court that the boy was a first offender and had no previous convictions.
Sheriff Fergus Thomson, after considering a full social background report, remitted the yob to the Children’s Panel for final disposal and compulsory supervision.
