Musical pals Believe in helping out

-

Two Wishaw friends have released a charity single in order to raise cash for the NHS.

Dylan McLean and Logan Reid released“Believe” in a bid to raise money for the official NHS charity.

Dylan said:“We have been planning on releasing the song since December 2019 but have never got round to doing it.

“So we now thought that we would try and raise some money for the amazing NHS during these uncertain times.

“We have created a video and have added in the voices of important coronavirus updates to the video as we think it gives the song a more powerful and emotional meaning.

“The lyrics for the song were originally about believing in yourself and never giving up – we think this is very fitting for the current circumstances that we are living in.

“We never got round to recording the vocals for the song but we think that the music speaks for itself and we still want to spread the message.”

Logan added:“We were due to release the song at Christmas but it can’t think of a better time to put it out there than now.”

It’s not the first time Logan and Dylan have collaborated on a charity single.

Last year, the pair wrote and composed Christmas Time while at Clyde Valley High.

Both Logan and Dylan hope to get a job in the music industry, with Logan hoping to become a music teacher and Dylan staying involved in the technical side.

Dylan, still a pupil at Clyde Valley High, also helped out with NHS Lanarkshire Staff Choir’s remote virtual performance of Lean on Me, originally sung by Bill Withers.

He technically co-ordinated the video on the healthboard’s behalf.

Dylan added:“With so much negative news in the media we want to try and spread something positive.

“We want to try and share the song with as many people as possible so that we can raise as much as we can for the NHS.”
