Cashsupport schemecloses
Grant schemes for businesses set up by the Scottish Government to provide support during the COVID-19 pandemic are set to close this week.
North Lanarkshire Council is administering a series of the schemes for the Scottish Government and have already awarded over £38 million.
There are four grants currently available; a Business Support Fund, consisting of a £10K Small Business Support Grant and a £25K Retail, Hospitality & Leisure award Grant, a £2k Newly Self Employed Hardship Fund and Bed and Breakfast Fund for £3k.
Councillor Allan Graham, Convener of Enterprise and Growth, said: “Our NonDomestic Rates Team, supported by the Enterprise Team, set-up and administered the multi-million pound business grant schemes to protect local businesses from the impact of coronavirus.
“As at June 30, the council had awarded 3,489 grants totalling £37,716,250 to local businesses through the Scottish Government Coronavirus Business Support Fund and 285 grants totalling £570,000 for the Newly Self Employed Hardship Fund.
“As we move forward there is an enormous challenge ahead for local businesses to get the economy working again, but we will continue to do all we can to give local businesses our full support to ensure we respond effectively to the economic issues emerging from this pandemic.”
Businesses in North Lanarkshire have until 5pm this Friday, July 10, to submit an application for all the funds.
