Selfless work appreciated by neighbours
Margaret thanked for brilliant effort
way to keep the gardens at Stewarton Street looking lovely and it really shows off her hard work.
“Even when the council grass cutters started back they said how great the gardens look!
“To me that says it all. She’s just a great person.”
To thank Margaret for all her hard work, Tracy nominated Margaret for our weekly Say it with Flowers competition.
And we surprised Margaret at her home with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, courtesy of our friends at Pixie’s Petals in Newmains, as a number of neighbours looked on.
Tracy hopes that the presentation will show Margaret just how much her work has been appreciated by all her neighbours.
She added: “She’s just a wee diamond and everyone on the street knows her very well.
“She is always there to help and to lend a hand to anyone who needs it.
“Margaret and Billy are both in their 60s but they certainly haven’t slowed down. She is like a wee stepmum to everyone who lives here and we can’t thank her enough for everything that she does.
“We all think she deserves some recognition for all the hard work she has put in.”
Stunned Margaret was delighted to receive the recognition but insisted it was a team effort.
She said: “I just want to say that all of the neighbours have chipped in. One couple, Mr and Mrs Logan, bought a strimmer for me.
“I suffer from anxiety and getting out in the gardens really help me. I’d also like to thank Tracy for nominating me as well.”
