Kind Kayla is a cut above the rest Youngsterhelpscharityclosetoherheart

A Wishaw schoolgirl is set for a special haircut in order to help a kids charity who arranged for her brother to meet his footballing hero.

Wishaw Academy pupil Kayla Harrison will have her hair cut in aid of Wishaw-based Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation.

The charity hair cut, which is due to take place at the Touch of Class salon in Kirk Road at the start of August, will also see the 10-year-old donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, with the charity using her locks to make a wig for a child suffering hair loss through illness.

Proud dad Crispin said: “She is a very caring girl and is always thinking of others .

“She said that she wanted to help sick children and if she gets her haircut she could get sponsor s and give the money to the charity.

“We have put a sponsorship form in Key Store in Wishaw’s Stewarton Street and also set up a Virgin Money Giving page.”

Kayla’s decision to raise cash for Les’s charity comes after the DreamMaker

Foundation stepped in to help her Spurs-daft brother Jay meet his football heroes.

Jay, who suffers from Parry– Romberg syndrome – a rare disorder characterised by slowly progressive shrinkage of the skin and soft tissues of half of the face – travelled to Tottenham’s training ground in 2018 to meet his footballing hero Harry Kane.

The Coltness High pupil travelled to London with dad Crispin and the pair were put in a hotel for the night before watching the Premier League club players train.

Les said: “Kayla’s mum and dad are friends with my daughter Shelley when they were growing up and the family live just around the corner from me in Coltness.

“It was great that we managed to get Jay down to Tottenham and meet Harry Kane.

“We are really thankful that Kayla has chosen to help us out. It helps us a great deal.”
