Would-be-thief with missing teeth
Police in Wishaw are appealing for information after a would-be thief with“missing teeth”was caught in a garden by a householder.
The incident took place at 11.40pm on February 17 at a property in Thrashbush Road in Cambusnethan.
A resident discovered a man in his garden with the alleged crook claiming he had“lost money”.
He quickly left the scene after being confronted by the householder.
The would-be thief is described as being around 6ft tall and was wearing a black top with white writing on it on the chest, wearing grey joggy bottoms and had several teeth missing.
Inspector Stevie Murray, from Wishaw Police Office, said:“We would hope someone would recognise this individual from the description given by the householder.
“I would also remind people of their personal security by locking their doors and keeping your keys well away from the door.”
Meanwhile, police are also hunting brazen thieves who stole cabling in broad daylight from a Wishaw industrial estate.
At approximately 3.25pm on February 17 at Netherton Industrial Estate, three men in a white Ford Transit van stole cabling worth around £1,000.
Inspector Murray added: “Considering the time of day this was it was a particularly brazen theft.
“We are hoping that someone may have been walking by and saw the van perhaps driving erratically.”
