Sense Scotland is inviting fundraisers to join them for walkies on Sunday, September 19.

Paws for Sense Scotland is an important event on the charity’s fundraising calendar.

Animal lovers are being urged to take the lead and, together with their dog-walking pals and four-legged friends, step out at a place and time of their choosing to help raise vital funds for Sense Scotland.

Every participant will receive a Sense Scotland T-shirt, and there is even a newdoggiebandanafor their paw-fect pooch.

This year, the charity has teamedupwith Lanarkshire-basedThe Daft Doodle Co, which produces custom cartoon pet portraits by bringing photos of pets to life using digital drawing.

The partnership will see all Paws for Sense Scotland participants getting their hands on some goodies:

■ Commit to raising at least £50 for a £10 gift card.

■ Raise £100 and also receive an unframed personalised‘pawtrait.’

■ The top individual fundraiser will walk away with £100 worth ofThe Daft Doodle Co. merchandise.

■ The top team will also share a paw-some prize fromThe Daft Doodle Co.

■ And there’s a prize for the best Scottish location on the day.

Jen Niven, Sense Scotland’s head of fundraising, said:“The response last year to our first Paws event was brilliant, especially in Lanarkshire where a numberofthepeoplewe support, their families and our staff completed a short socially-distanced walk together fromTouchBase Lanarkshire in Hamilton.

“Paws was conceived as a fundraiser which we could manage alongside the restrictions at that time, but people had such a great time they asked if we could make it a regular event.

“So, we’re excited to be doing this again, though this time with more goodies for pooches and pooch-owners, as Lanarkshire businessThe Daft Doodle Co. are partnering with us to provide brilliant incentives like discounted‘paw-traits.’

“We have whole streets going walkies, people ‘borrowing’dogs and even some cats trying to get in on the action. It’s really easy to sign up and funds raised go to a great cause, helping disabled people to live the lives they choose.”
