Brothers take care of things

Two Wishaw brothers have joined forces in a bid to help Scotland get more mobile.

Jason, 29, and John Clifford, 25, are the driving force behind Carfin-based Muscle Injury Clinic and have been helping people across the area with their injuries and remedial therapies for just over eight years. And now they are ramping up their efforts to fulfil their dream of creating a pain-free Scotland.

Keen to make a lasting impact on Scotland’s mobility, the pair are already well-known within the community, having strong ties to what has become a hub for physical activity in the area – The Dojo.

The Dojo provides karate, yoga and Pilate classes for all levels, and also runs regular self-defence classes for women in the area.

However, since seeing Scottish Health Secretary Humza Yousaf recently launching a public consultation to find out what is currently working well in health and social care and what is not, the brothers were keen to try and impact the lives of the care and mobility of the elderly and disabled.

The brothers are also set to provide more local jobs within the community and have opened up a“seating specialist”position, and as they grow they have plans to open up further positions.

Director John said:“There is a growing concern about the care and mobility for our elderly and disabled in our country, and this is something MIC Care Equipment aim to support in some small part.

“However, the main goal and driving force behind parent business MIC is to help those in pain and with immobility.

“This is something all within the company feel strongly about and it has bred our latest service, MIC Care Equipment. One issue is public access to the correct type of care equipment that is suitable for the individual, which MIC Care Equipment will offer in a very bespoke and personalised way. Waiting for six months on a list to receive a seating solution for your home or mobility frame isn’t working.”

John added:“We noticed patient’s injuries were being exacerbated by their living situation; the chairs they sit in for most of the day.”
