Wishaw. From bucket collections to collecting tins to speaking at events to share their stories, our volunteers raise awareness for Young Lives vs Cancer whilst raising vital funds to support young people and children with cancer.

We are lucky to have an amazing team of passionate volunteers who have created a real sense of community and champion the charity.

Volunteers are crucial to our work and mission to limit the damage cancer causes beyond a young person or child’s health.

As the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, every hour of our volunteers’ time is truly valued and makes a huge difference to the young people and children we support.

Often a volunteer come to us after a personal experience of cancer in their family, but many also give their time to meet new people, develop their skills or simply because they want to make a real difference.

A famous quote from Winston Churchhill states: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

We are always looking for more volunteers.

If any readers would like to find out more, they can do so by visiting our website https://www. younglivesvscancer.org.uk/join-ourfight/get-volunteering/

Thank you to each and every one of our volunteers and to the people of Wishaw for continuing to support

Young Lives vs Cancer over the past few years.

Dear Editor,

Sue Gray has now published her report into parties that took place in Downing Street during COVID lockdowns.

The report is damning for the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister was on television nearly every day preaching observance of the COVID rules, whilst at the same time allowing, and attending, rowdy parties in Downing Street.

It’s time for him to go. Lawmakers cannot be lawbreakers.

Failure to resign will cement the view that there is one rule for the powerful, and another for the rest of us.

That would be toxic for our democracy and our reputation around the world.

Civil servants should not be left to carry the can.

The buck stops with the Prime Minister. Conservative MPs must act now to replace the Prime Minister.

They either stand with the Prime Minister, or they stand with democracy.

They can’t do both.
