The Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh

- JEAN THOMPSON

WE had a very successful evening on Thursday, June 8, at the Pearson Hall in Sonning.

Hobbs were excellent, they had dressed our models in clothes that really suited their shape and colouring, and very dramatic they looked too.

Most have modelled before in our shows, which are generally held every other year, and so they sauntered and swaggered around the hall like the professionals.

Clothes shown included casual wear, smart/office wear and occasion wear, with lots of bright colours and accessories.

As mentioned below the charities supported this year are the RBS Faxitron appeal for Breast cancer detection and The Avenue School in Reading, who propose to buy a ‘supermarket’ for the school to help teach students some of the life skills they need.

The modelling was followed by a supper and raffle. In total about 75 people attended the event.

The Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh have had another successful year, which has included the celebration of the

15th Anniversary of its original Charter. Fundraising events have included a bridge drive, coffee mornings, a Barn Dance, a Garden Games afternoon, Hotfooted Shoes sale, and annual Elving in support of Rotary Father Christmas. Social outings have included a visit to Click restaurant at Brixton Prison, Buckingham Palace State rooms and Stonor Park.”
