Bulmershe records best ever results

MAX KENDALL and Finlay Morgan secured Bulmershe Gymnastics Club’s best ever results at the men’s artistic Southern Region Championsh­ips.

The Bulmershe squad now boasts two regional champions with Morgan sealing the Under-14 title while team-mate Kendall took the U12 crown in Portsmouth.

Morgan was victorious on rings and parallel bars, winning the all-around event with a score of 68.2.

Kendall clinched individual golds for floor, pommel and rings as well as the overall championsh­ip with a personal best score of 68.05.

Harry Eckersall won the

U12 all-around bronze as well as silvers in vault and pommel while U18 Sam Jackman won overall silver and golds on the floor, rings and vault.

In the U14 competitio­n, James West finished fifth overall while Jack Staunton and Joshua Baldwin came fourth and sixth respective­ly in the U16 developmen­t competitio­n.

Benjamin Neville claimed silver in the U10 developmen­t all-around category.

IT HAS also been a successful few weeks for the girls at the club.

Five young members from Bulmershe competed in the British Gymnastics Artistic Grade finals, held at Stoke-onTrent’s Fenton Manor Sports Complex.

And two stood out with Amelie Bowles and Emma Kendall bringing home silverware for Team South.

Bowles, 9, shone in the Compulsory Grade 4 championsh­ip, finishing third individual­ly and helping the South Region securing the team championsh­ip with top displays in the vault and asymmetric bars.

Kendall, 12, performed well across all apparatus to secure silver in the National Grade 3 championsh­ip.

Alice Bruun, Darcy Thorne and Lauren Saunders also competed in Stoke.
