A MAN from Earley has pleaded guilty to damaging a car in Reading.

Robert Thomas Whitfield, 23, of Mays Close, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on May 23 where he admitted damaging the white Volkswagen Polo in Kings Road, Reading on May 6 this year.

He was given a conditiona­l discharge for 12 months; ordered to pay a surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.

A MAN from Earley has been fined for stealing food from Greggs.

Xavier Jerome Forde, 33, of Langdale Gardens, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on May 24 where he admitted stealing a bottle of Fanta, orange juice and a baguette, worth £5.70, from Gregg’s in West Street, Reading on May 23 this year.

He was fined £50; ordered to pay compensati­on of £5.70; a surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.

He also admitted using threatenin­g or abusive words or behaviour on the same day, for which he was fined £50.

A MAN from Woodley has been banned from driving for 18 months.

Ricky Robert Pelham, 33, of Keswick Gardens, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on May 25 where he pleaded guilty to drink driving in Crown Street, Reading on May 7 this year.

He was fined £400; ordered to pay a surcharge of £40; and costs of £85. He was disqualifi­ed from holding a licence for 18 months.

A MAN is due to appear in court charged with assaulting a woman in Wokingham.

Mirza Mawaz Beg of Patriot Place, Reading, is accused of assaulting a woman in Wokingham on March 25 by beating her. He denies the charge.

He has been remanded on unconditio­nal bail to appear at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on July 25 for the trial.

A MAN from Reading has pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Earley.

Douglas John Piharczuk, 49, of Crescent Road, Reading, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on May 25 where he admitted beating the woman in Earley on April 20 this year.

He was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid community work within the next 12 months; pay a victim surcharge of £85; and costs of £85.

A WOMAN from Winnersh has been found guilty of stealing more than £800 from a man.

Tracey Tina Lewis, 53, of Winnersh Grove, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on May 26 where she was sentenced for stealing cash and using a debit card belonging

to the same man. She had been previously found guilty of the four charges on April 21.

She was ordered to attend a supervised rehabilita­tion activity for up to 20 days; pay £885.41 in compensati­on; an £85 surcharge and £400 in costs.

She was also ordered not to contact the victim directly or indirectly for the next three years.

A MAN from Woodley is due to appear in court charged with failing to comply with housing regulation­s.

Jasbir Singh, of Reading Road, is charged with 13 counts of failing to comply with regulation­s relating to Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs).

Mr Singh denies all of the charges.

The hearing has been adjourned until July 14.

A MAN from Earley is accused of sexually assaulting a woman.

James David Phillips, 26, of Gabriels Square, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on May 30 where he was charged with sexually assaulting a woman between May 1 and May 29 this year; and two counts of assaulting the woman occasionin­g actual bodily harm between the same dates.

He has been remanded in custody until the trial at Reading Crown Court on July 3.
