Peter wants to find Lost Boys

-

PETER PAN is searching for his Lost Boys – and there’s a chance you could be one of them.

On Sunday (July 2), Imagine Theatre will be holding open auditions for children to join the cast of this year’s Hexagon pantomime.

Anyone who thinks they have that extra special star quality are being encouraged to come along to Queens Walk venue and audition for the Christmas show.

The JM Barrie classic will once again be starring CBeebies’ superstar Justin Fletcher as Smee, and Paul Morse as the dame.

The Junior Chorus roles are open to both boys and girls – and, due to being a magical production of Peter Pan, The Hexagon is also looking for boys to play the roles of John and Michael, who fly off with Peter Pan for adventures in Neverland.

Steve Boden, from Imagine Theatre, said: “We are really excited to be doing Peter Pan in Reading.

“As with the panto every year we need boys and girls for the Junior Chorus, but this year we also need to fill the roles of Wendy’s two younger brothers, John and Michael.

“The roles of John and Michael are quite large ones as they have quite a lot of lines in the show and, of course, they are involved with the fights against the evil pirates, headed by the dastardly Captain Hook, so we are looking for some very talented children to play these characters."

Auditions for both John and Michael and the Junior Chorus are open to children between the ages of nine and 16, and are taking place at The Hexagon on Sunday from 9.30am.

Those auditioning for the roles of John and Michael are requested to return completed application forms to Imagine Theatre in advance, but those auditioning for the Junior Chorus are requested to just bring completed forms along with them on the day.

Steve added: “The open audition for the children is a great way of getting the local community involved in the production and auditioning youngsters for the panto is always a lot of fun, but also a real challenge as we see so much talent!

“We are proud of the fact we are able to offer all local children the opportunity to perform in a professional production as they can learn such a lot from the experience.”
