Brown’s brace gives Moles the edge

Binfield 3 Ascot United 1

-

JEFF BROWN bagged a brace as Binfield secured a much needed victory on Monday evening.

It has been a tough start to the season for the Moles, losing their last two games to Bracknell Town and Woodley United and conceding nine goals in the process.

But they doubled their league wins tally for the campaign after coming from behind at Hill Farm Lane.

Ascot, who themselves have had a difficult start to the year, took the lead from the penalty spot as Rob Lazarczuk beat Matt Hill.

But the lead lasted less than two minutes as Binfield equalised just before the break when Brad Pagliaroli notched his third goal of the season.

While the first half was tight, the second belonged to the hosts.

Danny Langford was causing problems, hitting the crossbar with a header, and Brown put the Moles ahead, making amends for his own goal at the weekend by tucking in from a corner.

Langford struck the crossbar again just before the Yellamen were reduced to 10 men with Louis Bouwers shown his second yellow card.

And Binfield made the extra man count, adding a third goal through defender Brown again.

Roger Herridge’s charges will be looking to make it back-toback wins when they travel to struggling Burnham on Saturday (3pm). BINFIELD: Hill, Thompson-Wheeler (Dickie 54), Lee, Brown, Smith, Broome, Howell, Gritt (Whyte 32), Langford (Colverd 75), Knight, Pagliaroli. Subs not used: Kemp, Santoro. Attendance: 124.
