A WOOSEHILL teenager who stole a car from Woosehill has been ordered to undertake 10 days’ community service.
Connor Stanley Jones, 19 and from Rainbow Park, was stopped by police in Lalande Close on February 19 while driving a Peugeot Boxer that wasn’t his; he was also charged for driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
He pleaded guilty and ordered to pay £85 to victim services. His licence was also endorsed by six points.
TERMS of a restraining order made against a Wokingham man have been changed by Reading Magistrates Court.
At a hearing on April 23, Ryan Lewis Crafts, 25 and from Neptune Close, was ordered not to contact a woman except in relation to child contact. The order is to last until October 15 this year.
Crafts had appealed to have the original restraining order made on October 16 last year changed.
A READING woman has been found guilty of drink driving and had her licence revoked for five years.
Yvonne Ochieng, 33 and from Thurso Close had pleaded not guilty after being stopped by police on November 4, 2017 in Carrick Gardens, Woodley.
A breath test revealed that she had 116 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
She received a suspended sentence of 18 weeks suspended for 18 months, and ordered to carry out 100 hours of community service. In addition, Ochieng was ordered to pay costs of £750 at a rate of £5 per week.
AN EARLEY man who pleaded guilty to drug driving has been banned from driving for three years.
Reading Magistrates Court heard, on April 23, that Mutasam Ahmed Mahmood, 28 and from Wokingham Road, was stopped by police in Cutbush Lane on November 16 last year.
A drugs test revealed that he had 8.0 micrograms of Delta-9Tetrahydrocannabinol, a form of cannabis, in his bloodstream.
Mahmood had previously aid he was not guilty but changed his plea to guilty.
He was also found guilty of being in possession of a quantity of cannabis in Cranbourne Gardens, Reading on the same date.
In addition to losing his licence, he was ordered to carry out 60 hours of community service, pay £85 to victim services and £310 in costs. Mahmood has appealed against the sentence.
A WOMAN from Arborfield has been fined £40 for failing to turn up to community service.
Lois Fisher, 19 and from Valon Road, didn’t appear on February 12 and 19 this year. She admitted the breach and was also ordered to pay costs of £30.
The money will be deducted from her benefit payments.
A WOKINGHAM man admitted failing to appear for community service and has been given an increase in the number of hours as a result.
Steven Peter Orme, 37 and from All Saints Close, didn’t turn up on April 3 and 4 this year. As a result, he now has to undertake 91 hours of community service.
A MAN from Knowl Hill who damaged windows of a home in Reading has been given 50 hours community service and banned from contacting the victim, either directly or indirectly.
Lee James Cummins, 32 and from Choseley Road changed his plea to guilty at the hearing on April 24 at Reading Magistrates Court.
On March 10, he broke two panes of glass. As a result, he is banned from visiting Montgomery Drive, Reading or from contacting the victim save via an agreed third party. The order lasts until April
23, 2020.
Cummins also had to pay £650 costs and £85 to victim services.
A TEENAGER who stole a bike from
Wokingham’s railway station has been referred to the Reading Youth Offender Panel for a total of nine months.
Jamie Liam Moore, 16 and from Chilcombe Way, pleaded guilty to stealing the £280 pedal cycle on July 29 last year.
He was ordered to pay compensation of £280.
AN ARBORFIELD man stopped for drink driving in the street where he lives has been banned from driving for 20 months.
William Martin Morrissey, 44 and from Valon Road, was caught by police on April 7 this year with 79 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
He was also charged with driving without due care and attention.
In addition to the driving ban, which will be reduced by 20 weeks if Morrissey undertakes an appropriate driving course, he was fined £500, ordered to pay £85 costs and £50 to victim services.
A MAN from Twyford has been remanded on unconditional bail until July 23 after pleading not guilty to two charges.
William James Hickmott, also known as Will Hickmott, is accused of assaulting Sangam Gurung on August 20, 2017 in Friar Street, Reading. Hickmott, 22 and from Cotterell Gardens, is also accused of racial/religious assault for the same incident.
As he denies the charges, a trial will be held in Reading Magistrates Court on July 23.
