A LORD, ladies and gentlemen gathered together to celebrate the formal opening of Floreat Montague Park Primary School earlier this month.

Wokingham Town Mayor Cllr Julian McGheeSumner joined other local guests to welcome Lord O’Shaughnessy for the launch event.

Guests were taken on a tour of the new buildings before pupils recited a special poem.

Lord O’Shaughnessy was then joined by two pupils to cut the ribbon and declare the school officially open.

The school takes children from reception age up to Year 6.

Kate Harper-Cole, Headteacher at Floreat Montague Park Primary School, said: “It was wonderful to showcase our successful school to Lord O’Shaughnessy and many other school stakeholders.

“The pupils at Floreat Montague Park are a true credit to us and their work in the classrooms and during a poetry recital demonstrated the high standards they set for themselves.

“Time was taken on the day to celebrate our many successes including high academic results and our knowledge rich-curriculum and character programme.”

Neil Douglas, Sales Manager at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “We were delighted to be invited to the grand opening of Floreat Montague Park Primary School and it’s been great to see this educational facility progress.

“As a five-star homebuilder we not only care about building high quality properties, but ensuring our developments are in a convenient location and this school is a key feature.

“Many of our buyers here have children attending the primary school and it’s brilliant for residents to have such exceptional education on their doorstep.”
