A LOWER EARLEY man has received three points on his licence for speeding in Norwich.

Alexander Bailey, 30 and from Hambledon Close, was spotted driving a BMW faster than the 30mph limit on the A147 Koblenz Avenue on December 19 last year.

He was fined £133 and ordered to pay costs of £85.

A HOMELESS man was sent to prison for 20 weeks after being found guilty of assaulting a police officer.

Steve Mark Cotterell, 29 and of no fixed abode, carried out the attack in Earley on October 12, 2016. At the same time, he was found guilty of damaging two DVDs containing police interviews. This incident also took place on October 12.

At the hearing on September

11, Cotterell was ordered to pay £400 compensati­on, no order for costs were made due to his lack of means.

A 29-YEAR-OLD from Finchampst­ead has been banned for driving for 18 months.

Lloyd Alan John Bower, from Roycroft Lane, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a blood specimen after being stopped in Wokingham on August 29.

In addition to his driving ban, he was ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 to victim services.

A 67-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to threatenin­g behaviour and will appear at Reading Magistrate­s Court for a summary trial on December 4.

Peter Jarmola, from Longs Way, Wokingham requested the hearing when he appeared at Reading Magistrate­s Court on September 13.

Jarmola is accused of using threatenin­g, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour that caused his two alleged victims harassment, alarm or distress. He is also accused of using threatenin­g words that led his alleged victims to believe he would be violent towards them.

Jarmola has been remanded on unconditio­nal bail pending the summary trial.

A 34-YEAR-OLD from Twyford will stand trial next week after been accused of arson.

Neil Joseph Manning, from

Crest Close, appeared at Slough Magistrate­s Court on September 14 for an initial hearing.

He is charged with conspiring to commit arson with a second person at Mansfield Recovery Group in Langley, by causing damage by fire to other vehicles. His trial will take place on October 16 at Reading Crown Court and he has been remanded on unconditio­nal bail.

A HOMELESS man has been fined £115 for damaging pictures, ornaments and a vacuum cleaner at a Shinfield home. Thomas

David James Fuller, 25, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s Court on September 18 where he was found guilty of criminal damage at the home on August 3 this year.

In additional to the fine, Fuller was ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 to victim services.

A TEENAGER from Barkham has been found guilty of trespassin­g on the railway.

Kyle Joseph McLoughlin, 19 and from Cherry Tree Grove, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s Court on September 19 where he admitted to two offences, both of which took place on August 18 in Reading.

He pleaded guilty to unacceptab­le behaviour on the railway – behaving in a disorderly, indecent or offensive manner.

McLoughlin was also found to be intoxicate­d on the railway.

He was fined a total of £175, ordered to pay costs of £85 and

£30 to victim services. McLoughlin is ordered to pay at a rate of £100 per month from October 3.

A 44-YEAR-OLD from Theale has been found guilty of drink driving in Wokingham.

Anthony David Croshaw, 44 and from Meadow Way, was stopped by police in Langboroug­h Road on August 31. He was found to have 78 microgramm­es of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

Croshaw also failed to stop when required to by the police.

He was banned from driving for 18 months, which will be reduced by four months if he completes a safe driving course.

Croshaw was also fined

£120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 to victim services.

A 46-year-old who used threatenin­g or abusive language likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress has been given an 18-month conditiona­l discharge.

Reading Magistrate­s Court, on September 20, heard that John Thomas Cooper, 46 and from Carina Drive, was with Albie John Davies on September 3 in Reading where the language was used. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 to victim services.

Albie John Davies, 42 and from Greenfield­s in Ruscombe, was also found guilty of the same offence at the same hearing.

He was also given a conditiona­l 18 month discharge, ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 to victim services.

A MAN from Thatcham will have to wait until the end of November to find out his sentence after stealing a bike from Wokingham’s railway station.

Adrian Gareth Lewis, 53 and from Rotary Way in Kenneth

Heath, gave an indicative plea of guilty for two offences when he appeared at Reading Magistrate­s Court on September 20.

Lewis is accused of stealing a bike worth £550 from Thatcham Railway Station on July 3 and also stealing a bike worth £650 on August 1 from Wokingham Railway Station.

The sentence was deferred until November 30 and Lewis is expected to keep out of trouble and to comply with a care plan set out on September 6.
