Bees ready to take on Wildcats and Thunder

-

IT’S ANOTHER double header for the Berkshire Cycles Bracknell Bees this weekend with league games against Milton Keynes and Swindon Wildcats.

On Saturday, Doug Sheppard takes his team to face the MK Thunder in a reverse of last Sunday’s fixture, where Bees won 2-0.

This coming Sunday it’s the Swindon Wildcats who are back at the Hive. The ‘Cats were tough preseason opponents, but since then the Bees have made personnel changes and enjoyed a successful start to the league campaign.

Players to watch out for with the Wildcats include the dangerous player/coach Aaron Nell along with imports Maxim Bibraer and Jan Kostal. The defence is highly experienced with Sam Godfrey, Steve Whitfield and veteran Neil Liddiard all ready to patrol the blue line with Renny Marr in between the pipes.

“It’s important we keep the momentum going we generated from last weekend,” said head coach Sheppard.

“We controlled the majority of the play against Milton Keynes last Sunday but I expect them to be much better their own rink .

“On Sunday we play Swindon, who may well be the team to beat this season. We will need to be at our best to pick up the points.

We have home ice advantage with our fans behind us and guys will be ready for a big game. We need to win all the one on one battles, playing hard but keeping our discipline.”

Saturday’s game in Milton Keynes is a 7pm face-off with Sunday’s tilt at the Hive being a 6pm face-off.
