A man and a woman, both in their 20s, have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died of a stab wound in Nine Mile Ride on Monday afternoon. He was found injured in the road around 2pm but paramedics were unable to save him. A post mortem on the 27-year-old was carried out on Tuesday afternoon.
A MAN who died in Nine Mile Ride on Monday was stabbed in the chest.
Thames Valley Police said that a post mortem conducted on 27-year-old Zelous Smythe, from Camberley, revealed that he died from a single stab wound.
Around 2pm on Monday, Smythe was seen on the road in Wokingham Without. Paramedics attempted to treat him at the scene but the injuries were so severe that he died at the scene.
Nine Mile Ride was closed to traffic between Heathlands Road and the Queensmere roundabout between Monday afternoon and late yesterday afternoon.
Floral tributes have been placed at the scene and police said that the victim’s next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
The area where the body was found is outside a mobile home park and opposite a row of houses. However neighbours on the scene on Monday evening knew nothing of the incident, having only seen the police response when they returned home from work.
Two people have been arrested under suspicion of murder.
