Scores on the Boars as duo bag impressive braces

Eversley and California 4 Horley Town 1

-

MO DAVIES and Josh Sapsed both scored twice as Eversley saw off higher league opposition in Horley.

Combined Counties Division One Boars eased to victory at Fox Lane over Premier Division Horley after racing into a 3-1 half-time lead before netting again after the restart.

Eversley were left disappointed on Saturday when their league game against Chessington and Hook United was abandoned during the second half due to wet weather with the Boars leading 2-0.

And that appeared to carry into the early stages on Tuesday night as Horley took the lead.

But Ellis Woods’ men regrouped to equalise when Brad Brown picked out Sapsed to score.

The turnaround was soon complete when Davies fired in from outside the box and the same man netted again before the break, tucking in a penalty after Aaron Rowland had been fouled.

And the game was wrapped up in the second half when Brown and Sapsed linked up again with the latter finding the net.

Eversley will now go to another Premier Division side in Hanworth Villa in the quarter-finals.

Before that they visit Deportivo Galicia in the league on Saturday (3pm) as they look to make it four wins in a row.

EVERSLEY: York, Dickie, Whyte, Allston (c), Akem Che, Wood (Edwards), Rowland (Shay), Davies (Blair), Sapsed, Smith, Brown. Subs not used: Lusty, McCarthy.
