No cup shock for Berks County
BERKS COUNTY were unable to pull off a shock as they were dumped out of the Reading Senior Cup by Reading City.
There are two divisions between the sides and the gulf in class showed at the Rivermoor with Hellenic Premier City running out 4-0 winners with all the goals coming in the first half.
Also in cup action were WOODLEY UNITED ROYALS, who were beaten 4-0 at Slough Heating Laurencians in the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup.
In the same competition HURST lost 5-2 to Wallingford Town Reserves, despite goals from Benjamin
Anderson and Marc Jones, while AFC CORINTHIANS were thrashed 5-1 by Lambourne Sports at Cantley Park.
HARCHESTER HAWKS DEVELOPMENT were knocked out of the Reading Diamond Cup with a 5-2 defeat at Henley Town Development with Thomas Rowing scoring twice for the visitors.
There were also some Thames
Valley League games with struggling WOKINGHAM AND EMMBROOK RESERVES losing 2-0 to Burghfield in the Premier Division.
HURST RESERVES are up to fifth in Division Two after beating Phoenix Old Boys with goals from Andrew Herbert and Matthew Lambert (2).
Meanwhile WOODLEY UNITED A also won 3-2, away at Goring United Reserves in Division Three thanks to Timothy Green’s brace and a Conor Clarke strike.
BERKS COUNTY ROVERS were thrashed 8-2 at Datchet Village in Division Four to be knocked off top spot.
