Frost hat-trick gives them the win

-

TYLER FROST scored a hattrick as Reading’s Under23s took their unbeaten run to 12 matches.

The Royals’ latest success was a hardfought 3-0 win over Birmingham City in the Premier League Cup with Frost (pictured) netting three times in the final 25 minutes.

Callum Harriott was given some more game time and he helped set up an early chance with the ball eventually falling to in-form Ben House, but his shot was saved.

A well-drilled Birmingham defence was proving hard to penetrate, but the goal did finally arrive midway through the second half when Michael Olise picked out Frost to race through and score.

At the other end Luke Southwood had to be alert to thwart an instant leveller and the Royals moved 2-0 up in Woking when Frost netted from the penalty spot in off the post after Teddy Howe had been fouled in the box.

And there was time for a third goal via another penalty after House had gone down with Frost clinching his first

Reading hat-trick.
