dAY1 fly to rome
You will fly direct from London to the Eternal City (regional flights and upgrades are available at a supplement), from where you will be transferred to the port of Rome, Civitavecchia, where you will board your luxury home for the next seven nights, the majestic Royal Clipper (see further information about Royal Clipper on the right hand page).
dAY2 Ponza and Palmarola
Today you will disembark in the delightful, unspoilt town of Ponza, whose pastel-coloured houses form neat terraced rows, and where you’ll see expensive yachts and old-fashioned fishing boats moored side by side in the bustling harbour. Your next stop, the stunning and largely uninhabited island of Palmarola – one of the beautiful Pontine Islands off the Italian coast halfway between Rome and Naples – is famous for its pink coral beaches and emerald coves. Don’t forget your swimsuit – this is a perfect place for swimming and snorkelling.
dAY3 sorrento
The pretty coastal town of Sorrento, whose city walls rise up straight out of the Mediterranean sea, is one of several unmissable destinations you’ll visit along the Amalfi Coast.

dAY4 amalfi
Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and picture-perfect scenery, the beautiful town of Amalfi boasts great views and historical highlights at every turn, including the impressive cathedral, which contains the remains of the Apostle St Andrew.

dAY5 taormina, sicily
This morning, Royal Clipper will travel at full sail through the Strait of Messina and past the mythical monsters Scylla and Charybdis, who, according to Greek legend, lived on opposite sides of the narrow strait and almost led to Odysseus’s downfall on his epic voyage home from the Trojan War.

In the afternoon, you will disembark at the stunning Sicilian town of Taormina, which is perched on the shoulder of Mount Etna and was once described by the poet Goethe as the “greatest work of art and nature”. dAY 6 liPari
Just off the northern coast of Sicily there is an idyllic cluster of volcanic islands known as the Aeolian Islands. Today you will visit the largest, Lipari,pari where you can walk th the narrow streets to the medieval castello and unwind by the sea at a secluded beach. Look out, too, for the frequent volcanic fireworks that burst skyward from the nearby island of Isola Stromboli when you sail past. dAY 7 at sea
