BBC Proms
The world’s largest classical music festival, the BBC Proms, presented by Katie Derham, returns for its 123rd season this summer, offering over eight weeks of concerts, talks, workshops, family events and more, ending with the famous
Last Night of the Proms at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The festival brings some of the world’s best musicians to London, with a line-up including conductors Edward Gardner, Daniel Barenboim and Bernard Haitink, and soloists Igor Levit, Lisa Batiashvili and Isabelle Faust. Plus, a number of major composer anniversaries will be marked, including Monteverdi at 450, Handel’s Water Music at 300 and film composer John Williams at 85.
Every Prom is broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, and the entire festival will be streamed at bbc. co.uk/proms. There are around 100,000 tickets available at £12.50 or less, including Promming (standing in the Arena or Gallery areas of the Royal Albert Hall) tickets, which cost £6, and will be made available on the day of each concert, from 14 Jul-9 Sept.
