Catherine Summers, 45, lives in Devon with her husband Keith. She started s her style blog “Not Dressed as a Lamb” six years ago when she wanted w to document her style in the t run-up to her 40th birthday.
“i started to read fashion blogs and thought t there’s a gap in the market… if i’m looking for it then i guess other women w will be looking for it too! i still cover c my personal style but it’s more of o a lifestyle blog. Four years ago i went w full-time and i write about ageing, health h and beauty too.
“i got involved with the Jd williams Colour C Council because the name itself made m me go, “yes please” because i ia am just all about colour. i’ve always wanted w to be one of those people who wore bright, happy clothes. i like the positive message the Colour Council gives about bringing colour into your whole life and not just into your wardrobe, and i guess that resonates with me because i like to make my blog and my social media platforms a happy, positive place. i’ve got no room for women criticising each other.
“i think it’s going to take women a while to shake off fashion rules; it’s a confidence thing. i mix all colours and don’t take notice of any rules. the thing that always comes into my head is, who cares, what difference does it make to other people what you wear or what you do as long as people have respect for one another. Just do what makes you happy.”
