Use this time to figure out how you want to change your behaviour during confidence-zapping situations. Think about the scenario – when relationsh­ip problems threaten or when you have to give a presentati­on at work – then decide what you could do or say to be more assertive. Use the “If… then” format to outline your intentions. So you could say, “If I’m in a interview, then I will spend more time looking the interviewe­r in the eye.” Or, “If I need to be more assertive in a meeting, then I’ll think of five things I want to say and write them down.”
