Hidden underneath a pile of stuff? Here’s how to make it a feature again…

1 What’s the biggest problem? if it’s magazines, buy a magazine rack or stylish storage tub. if it’s newspapers, then throw away old ones before you sit down with the new. if it’s tech, such as tablets and laptops, then create a tech tub or use a hamper-style basket, keeping the chargers hidden too.

2 Do you have the right piece? Would a coffee table with drawers or a shelf underneath suit you better? or what about a storage ottoman? Perhaps a side

table with a drawer would help alleviate some of the clutter? How about a tray that you can slide underneath with things on?

3 When was the last time you gave it a style edit? Have you just been adding to, rather than curating your collection of things on your coffee table? take off everything and start again – a hero vase (with or without flowers), a lovely scented candle and a talking-point piece grouped together as a threesome, always looks great.
