April is a great time for shellfish lovers. Oysters, mussels, clams and crabs are really tasty at this time of year. Greens-wise, there’s still native kale, purple-sprouting broccoli and roots to be had. Fruit-wise, we are still thin on the ground so rely on imported fruits to top up your five-a-day. The spring lamb will be coming in, but be prepared to pay top price for it early in the season.
