About 10 years ago I joined

Woman Bingo, after seeing it in this magazine. It seemed like a lovely site for some ‘me time’. I signed up and have been playing once a week ever since.

Lots of my friends have joined and about five years ago my twin sister signed up, too. She had a big win within a few weeks of joining. We often see each other on the site, as we recognise each other’s usernames, and have a little chat online or congratulate each other if we win.

Just chilling out

I usually play Sapphire Bingo – it’s an easy game and the crowd in the chat room are great fun. Over the years, I’ve won lots of lines and small amounts. Most of the time, I use the winnings to treat my family to nice meals out. For me, that’s what the site is about – being able to chill out on the sofa in the evening and play some bingo.

It’s such good fun and the ‘roomies’, as we call the members, are a really friendly bunch. In July last year, I was playing Sapphire on my phone. I’d bought three tickets, costing me 30p, and I knew I’d be playing for about an hour and a half. Whenever I log in, I also play the promotional games and a daily play game, as well as buying my tickets. You can win cash and free spins with the daily play games, once you’ve made your initial deposit.

That night, I was on my first game and had just one more number to play for. It was 24, and I told myself it’d never come up. But to my amazement, just a few seconds later, the next number was called... and it was 24! I’d hit the jackpot and won £1,250!

The members online started saying, ‘Well done, winner!’ I was so chuffed. Before I had time to ring my husband, Tom, who was working a night shift, I got a call from my twin. ‘I saw you win!’ she yelled down the phone. ‘Congratulations!’

She’d been on the site at the same time, so she’d seen it was me who won the jackpot. I raced upstairs to call Tom and give him the good news.

‘I just won £1,250 on the bingo!’ I cheered.

‘Get in!’ Tom replied.

Jetting off to the sun

For the previous few months, Tom and I had been looking at various family holiday destinations, but hadn’t booked anything yet. We’ve been away in the UK over the past few years, but hadn’t been abroad. But with an extra £1,250 in the bank, we decided to jet off for some sunshine!

In the end, we decided on Tenerife in the Canaries and Tom, my two daughters, stepdaughter and I all went for a week last September. We’d been there 17 years ago, but this time we stayed in an allinclusive hotel, which was such a treat.

And that isn’t all we did with my winnings. Tom and I also went for a night out in Newcastle. We live about a halfhour drive away, so we decided to treat ourselves and stay in a hotel as well. After that, we booked a weekend away in Edinburgh. We’d never been there before, but had always wanted to go, so it was lovely way to use the jackpot money!

I still play about once a week on the site. I’ve tried a couple of other sites over the years, but Woman Bingo is so friendly and I really love the games. If I don’t play Sapphire Bingo, I usually go in the Bingo Lounge. And if you win on Sapphire during the week, you get tickets for the Play Off Palace on a Sunday night, where you have another chance of winning.

I’ve recommended Woman Bingo to a lot of my friends, and even Tom has signed up now. It’s like I always say to my friends who hear about my jackpot win: ‘You really do have to be in it to win it!’

‘I had hit the jackpot and won!’
