‘I’d love to be a baddie on Eastenders!’
TV legend Jackie Woodburne tells us her TV secrets…
What do you love about filming Neighbours?
In 23 years, Susan Kennedy has been through a lot, but working with my TV husband Alan (Fletcher) has been so much fun.
What’s been your favourite storyline?
The Karl/izzy/susan love triangle. In Izzy, there was a character that Susan could hate and we’ve never seen that before.
You have roots in the UK don’t you?
I was born in Northern Ireland – I’d like to do Who Do You Think You Are? and trace my family tree.
Are there any other TV jobs you would like to do?
I’d love to be a baddie on
Eastenders! It’s dark and gritty – the polar opposite to Neighbours.
Tell us about the drama facing Susan?
Things are coming to a head with evil teacher Finn. Everyone assumes that she’s having an MS relapse, but she’s being poisoned. The MS was a really important storyline to get right when she was first diagnosed.
What’s your idea of a perfect weekend?
It would include a sleep in, a 15-km walk, dinner and drinks with friends, and a few laughs.
✱ Neighbours airs on Channel 5, weekdays – 1.45pm & 5.30pm
