I’ve been eating sugar for years – can i counteract it?

‘Yes, if you’re in the right mindset,’ says Julie. Stay fresh and avoid processed foods containing high amounts of additives, sugar and saturated fats.

‘Cut them out completely to detox yourself from it, and your body will realise it doesn’t need it. also get your full seven hours of sleep, as this prevents you from feeling sluggish.’

Fill up on fibre, protein, fruit and vegetables. once your body is used to cutting out sugar, Julie recommends maintainin­g a diet that includes lots of green leafy veg, as well as starting the day with a glass of water followed by a cup of herbal tea. This will keep you hydrated and help your body to flush out toxins.
