Evelyn Ford, 63, from Musselburgh, has won eight jackpots
Sitting in front of the telly, i could see my laptop out of the corner of my eye. it was a friday night in march last year, and after finishing a shift at my job as a clothing manager, i was back home enjoying my evening.
I was catching up on my favourite shows, and in the background my laptop was running a game on Woman Bingo. As a member for over 10 years, I’ve always found the site great fun, a good place to socialise and somewhere to enjoy some well-deserved me-time.
I’d pre-bought some tickets in Sapphire, a 90-ball bingo game that’s my favourite. I usually play in there or Tiki Bingo. I often pre-buy tickets as it means you can be a part of your game, no matter what else you’re up to, as the computer ticks off your numbers automatically.

I could see the numbers being dabbed off the card on the screen beside me. Plus a Progressive Jackpot was mounting too, at over £20,000! As I glanced across, I noticed I had matched two lines. I’d win £100 for that! Then, just seconds later, the computer screen was displaying ‘You’ve won’, and I could see it was the Progressive Jackpot! But I knew that winning screen well… you see, this was not my first but my eighth jackpot on
Woman Bingo! Over the years, I’ve won lots of jackpots in Sapphire and my biggest win to date had been £1,250.
But this win was my biggest yet – I had scooped an astounding £24,747! Gawping at the screen, I called my sister, Janice. ‘You’re not going to believe this…’ I cried.
Janice and I had wanted to go to New York for a while, so I decided to book us tickets. I also gave my daughter some money for a new shed she’d been after. A good friend of mine lives in Switzerland, so I visited her, too.
The week after my win, I was moving house, and I splashed out on fancy curtain poles and beautiful pictures – including one of Brooklyn Bridge in New York.
I still can’t believe that I had an eighth jackpot win with Woman Bingo. My first win was back in 2014 when I won £1,250. In total, I’ve won more than £32,000 – and that isn’t even counting all of the times I’ve won £100 on matching a line!
Jet-setter
And just a couple of months before this latest win, I’d scooped £1,000 and bought myself a new washing machine and tumble dryer. In the past, I’ve also jetted off to San Francisco with my bingo wins, as well as Las Vegas. Once, I even won a holiday to Lanzarote with Woman Bingo!
I’ve got a few more years of working yet, but I look forward to using the rest of my jackpot on some nice trips and days out when I retire.
I just love playing online – the Woman Bingo site is so friendly and there’s a real sense of community. It’s such a good laugh, and winning the jackpots really is a brilliant bonus!
