Celeb news including Dame Barbara Windsor’s husband: ‘I can’t imagine letting her go’
Dame Barbara Windsor’s husband, Scott Mitchell, has revealed he may have to move the legendary actress into a care home amid her worsening Alzheimer’s battle.
Scott, 57, made the admission on Ross Kemp: Living with Dementia and said he’d been warned by healthcare professionals that it might have to happen.
Scott confessed, ‘I’ve had some fairly dark moments since he said that because there’s a part of me that [thinks] that is most likely the truth that needs to happen, and there’s a part of me which can’t imagine letting her go.’
Barbara, 82, was diagnosed with the disease six years ago but has had a marked decline in recent months and now doesn’t recognise herself.
Her Eastenders on-screen son, Ross Kemp, described the situation as ‘heartbreaking’.
