‘I sneak into the kitchen to eat houmous’

Linda Robson on late night snacks and climbing mountains

-

Actress Linda Robson is a firm favourite on our screens, whether she’s spilling her secrets on Loose Women or making us cry with laughter in BBC comedy Birds Of A Feather. The star, who’s married to property manager Mark Dunford, 56, and mum to Lauren, 33, Louis, 24, and Bobbie, 19, sat down with us to chat life-changing moments and her secret guilty pleasure…

What would be your dream way to spend 24 hours?

Going to Bath with my husband. It’s so lovely. We took Birds Of A Feather on tour and Pauline [Quirke], Lesley [Joseph] and I stayed there for a week. I just fell in love with it. It’s the only place I’ve ever visited and thought, ‘I could live here.’

What’s been your most embarrassing moment?

Recently, I got in trouble for swearing on the show and they sent an email round to everyone classifying swear words for me!

Who’s your celebrity crush?

I love Sean Bean. I think he’s a bit of a bad boy. He’s a really good actor, I was traumatised when he got killed in Game Of Thrones! All his roles are quite

sexy and quite macho.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Late-night snacking on houmous. I’m on a keep-fit thing at the moment, all the Loose Women have got Fitbits and we’re all walking miles. I’ve been trying not to eat after 7pm, Nadia Sawalha’s been my adviser! But at about 9pm I think, ‘Oh, I’ll have some houmous.’ When all my family has gone to bed, I sneak in and help myself!

What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?

I climbed Ben Nevis for Children With Cancer UK last year. Nadia, Kaye Adams and I did it. We were at a ball and a young boy with leukaemia was talking about his bucket list, and one thing on it was to climb Ben Nevis. We’d all had a few drinks and said we’d do it with him. When the drink’s in, the wit’s out! It nearly killed me! I was so unfit and unprepared, I was the last one to finish out of 45 people. I fell over during it, and afterwards, I was really ill for about three days. On the train home from Scotland, I threw up.

What’s the strangest place you’ve been spotted by a fan?

I’ve had people put their heads over toilet cubicles to see me. You just say, ‘Excuse me, do you mind if I wipe my bum please!’ And then they’ll wait outside for you. u
