‘I treated my family with £1,000!’

About five years ago, I joined Woman’s Own Bingo after seeing the site advertised. I’ve played bingo locally before and still pop in to my local hall every now and then with friends, but playing online is just as much fun.
My favourite game to play on the Woman’s Own Bingo site is Sapphire. It’s a 90-ball bingo room and it feels just like you’re playing at a hall because it’s entertaining, good fun and, even better, it costs just 10p a ticket!
There’s another great game on the site called Tiki’s Catch of the Day, which you can only play every day for free once you become a member. I often play that as you can win either free spins to play the Tiki Island slot game or even cash.
Last October, I was playing on Sapphire. I’d bought myself just six tickets, spending 60p in total, and I settled in for a few games.
I’d been playing for about half an hour when I got up to go and get a drink from the kitchen.
I only came back a minute or two later to see my screen said ‘0 to go!’ Amazingly, what had greeted me on my return was the winning screen. I couldn’t believe it!
Sure enough, my account balance had grown by £1,000 and I’d hit the jackpot while I’d been away in the kitchen!
I was smiling from ear to ear as the good news sank in and I immediately grabbed my phone and sent a text message to my daughter to tell her what had happened. It was the start of half term, so I’d be able to spoil my grandchildren with the jackpot money I had won!
The next morning, I told my husband. ‘You jammy thing,’ he laughed.
You see, it was actually the second £1,000 jackpot I had won on the site…
About two years ago, I had another win on Sapphire and scooped my first £1,000.
With that win, I paid for me and my husband to go down to Penzance for a holiday. I’d wanted to go to Tenerife or Gran Canaria, but my husband said he really fancied Penzance, so we took the coach down from Leicester and spent a few days down by the sea, which was absolutely lovely. We were even lucky with the weather!
But, with my latest win, I wanted to treat the grandkids.
Just a couple of days later – and a few days into half term – I went to check my bank account while I was in town.
‘There’s suddenly a lot of money in there!’ I thought to myself, slightly bemused.
Then I realised – my jackpot win had gone in already!
My daughter had brought up my grandson from Portsmouth for half term and I had two of my other six grandchildren staying, too, so now I couldn’t wait to treat them all to some fun days out.
On the first day, I took them to a trampoline park, which they loved. The next day, I took them to a park that has wildlife, kayaking, and loads of indoor and outdoor activities for them to enjoy. It was brilliant.
Family time
I still had plenty of money left over so I treated my grandson to some new clothes and gave my children some money. Family is so important to me and I love being able to spoil them every now and again.
My daughter and my daughter-inlaw joined the site after they heard about my win. We’ve all played
bingo together in a hall before – and sometimes still do – but they love the site as much as me.
Playing online is quite relaxing, as you can sit comfortably at home and play at whatever time suits you.
I usually sit on the sofa and knit while I’m playing as the computer automatically dabs the numbers off for you, so you can multitask!
Another big win
When I had my win in October, a few minutes later I saw someone win £11,000 and, just like anyone would, I wondered what I would do if I won that much.
I absolutely love Malta and I would love to take my whole family out there for a week of fun together. So if I win again – and win big – that’s definitely what I would do.
For now, though, logging in and chatting to the other members about what we’re doing at the weekend or our favourite new recipes – all while playing a few games of bingo, of course – is such a fun way to spend an evening or an afternoon! And it’s even better if you win the jackpot!
