Nine years ago I became a member of Woman’s Own Bingo. It’s so friendly and there’s a great vibe in the chat rooms.

In September last year, a few days before my birthday, I was playing Sapphire Bingo, a 90-ball room where tickets are 10p each. I had four tickets on the go, but as it was getting late, I decided to call it a day and head to bed. The next day, I logged into see if anything had come of my tickets. That’s when I saw my balance – I’d won £2,399 overnight!
I immediately told my husband, then called my two daughters, one of whom lives thousands of miles away in Western Australia. It was she who first told me about playing online all those years ago, as she really enjoyed it. So she knew how thrilled and excited I’d be feeling.

And this wasn’t my first major win either – a few years back, I scooped £1,500 playing in the Bingo Lounge.
My husband and I try to visit our elder daughter and granddaughter in Perth every three years. Flights are expensive, of course, but with my jackpot win, I can start planning our trip. We’re going to fly over in October, and we can’t wait! We speak via webcam once a week, but I can’t wait to see them both in the flesh and see how my little granddaughter has grown.
