‘We needed help’
Linda and husband Mark forced to go to counselling
TV star Linda Robson has admitted that there was a period in her marriage where things got so tough, the pair had to seek expert help.
The Loose lady, who’s been married to bookshop owner Mark Dunford for 27 years, went on to confess that the reason was because she didn’t know how to help him through a heartbreaking patch in their lives.
Chatting on Loose Women, Linda, 59, revealed, ‘About 15 years ago we had a real tough patch. Mark suffered from anxiety and a bit of depression… and I didn’t know how to help him. That was a hard time – especially with the kids involved.’ The couple are parents to Bobbie, 21, Louis, 25, and Lauren, 34, from Linda’s previous relationship.
‘We went to marriage guidance and they really helped us,’ she added. ‘Since then, I mean, the kids are all grown up, we’ve got grandchildren, we’ve never been happier.’ In fact, the couple are in such a good place, Mark even concocted a special surprise for the Birds Of
A Feather star. ‘We can fly!’ Linda exclaimed. ‘He hasn’t flown for years. He took secret lessons [to cure him of his fear of flying] and then he took a video. He hadn’t flown for 15, 16 years, then he showed me the video of him on the plane and I couldn’t believe it. So that means we can have little breaks away. We’ve got the best relationship now, we really have.’
