‘My jackpot paid for my wedding’

Pulling into the hotel car park, I couldn’t believe my luck. It was May this year and I was checking in, the night before my wedding to my partner Alan the next day.
Staying at the hotel was such a luxury, and it wasn’t something I had planned. But just a few months before, I’d won a huge bingo jackpot with Woman’s Own Bingo!
In February this year, I had logged into my account one morning and decided to play the daily free games. I got five spins for free and I won £2 with them. What luck!
Little did I know, there was more to come. I put my £2 winnings towards 20 tickets in the Bingo Lounge, one of my recent favourite games. Sometimes I watch my games play out, but that day I pottered around the house and returned half an hour later. When I looked at the screen, I was in shock. My balance had rocketed by £15,235! I had won the jackpot while I’d been away from the computer!
I yanked the laptop off the table and ran upstairs to wake up Al. ‘Look!’ I cried, as he prised open his eyes.
Once he’d woken up a bit, he saw my account balance.
‘No, that can’t be right can it?’ he asked. I refreshed the page and the balance remained the same.
With Al now truly awake, we jumped around in delight.
We were planning to get married just a few months later and the money meant we could pay for the venue, cake, photographer and all the little extras ahead of the big day. And I could stay in the beautiful hotel the night before my wedding.
One of the best things about the win was being able to share it with friends and family. I let my granddaughter choose a dress, as she was going to be a flower girl. I also bought a dress for one of my close friends as a treat.
Aside from the wedding, I bought myself a new car. I use it to get to work in my job as a nurse in Glasgow, as it’s so important for me to be able to get around. My old car was on its last legs, so being able to buy a nearly new one outright was a huge weight off my mind.
Of course, we also had our honeymoon to look forward to. We were going to Greece, to the place where we got engaged in 2016. The holiday was all booked, but I used
the jackpot towards our spending money, so we could have some really nice meals while we were there.

I still can’t believe I won that huge jackpot, especially as I didn’t even see it happen on screen. But this isn’t the first time this has happened to me on Woman’s Own Bingo…
In fact, this is my fourth jackpot win. My first was back in July 2015, when I won £1,000 on Bejeweled Bingo. Just a matter of months later, I won £3,752 on Round the Clock!
I’d bought 12 tickets for Round the Clock and then left the game playing while I went to do something else. The computer checks your numbers for you, so you don’t have to worry about missing anything. And it’s an amazing feeling when you return to the screen and see a huge jackpot has gone into your account! My daughter was moving into her own house back then and the cash prize meant I could help her out with things like cutlery, blinds and carpets. In March 2016, I won £5,419 on Round the Clock again and used this money when we went Zakynthos in Greece, where Alan proposed. It means in total, I’ve won over £25,000 in the past three years. Just before my £15,235 jackpot came in, another member typed, ‘Whoever wins this is going to be on cloud nine’. She was absolutely right – I still am!
