It’s been fun to challenge myself. You buy the chemistry between them all. What’s helped is that I’ve known Cath Tyldesley and Samia Ghadie for years, so when we are on screen we have a ball. I wanted to portray that he’s in love with two women and genuinely confused and isn’t trying to be a sleaze, even though he is.

Yes, but one of them’s my mum! What’s the most bizarre reaction you’ve had from a fan? It was, ‘Hasn’t Shayne got a rubbish Mancunian accent!’ I’m like, ‘But I’m from Manchester!’
How’s family life? Incredible. My daughter Willow May is beautiful and Sophie, my partner, and I are relishing these magical moments.
