Take in the museums

Whether it’s fashion, history or art that sparks your interest, New York’s museums will leave you feeling inspired. Many of the big names are clustered around Central Park within easy walking distance. Close your eyes at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (adults £18.90, metmuseum. org) and you could be in Ancient Eygpt as you wander around the Temple of Dendur dating from 10BC. The impressive mansion that’s home to the Frick Collection is worth seeing alone (frick.org) and save time to visit the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and its well-stocked gift shop.
