The past year has been anything but easy for Ant Mcpartlin. But six months since he checked himself into rehab for a two-year addiction to prescription drugs and alcohol, the star is motivated to get his life back on track – and most importantly that means winning back his wife, Lisa Armstrong.

Celebrity presenter tells Woman’s own that Ant, 42, has big plans to woo lisa, 41, in an attempt to make their marriage work once again.
our source says, ‘Ant is extremely grateful to lisa and wants to pay her back in a big way. he wants to prove to her that he has changed, and more than ever he just wants her to take him back into their home and for them to live as husband and wife.’
Under pressure
understandably, their 11-year marriage has been under strain, and since he returned from an la rehab centre in early november, Ant has lived apart from lisa, moving out of their marital home.
the tv host has also not been wearing his wedding ring for a number of weeks now, causing concern from some that the marriage is beyond repair – which is something, Woman’s own understands, that Ant is extremely determined to change.
our wellplaced source has revealed that Ant is doing all in his power to save his marriage, confessing, ‘he has really come to realise that lisa is the most important person in his life, bar none. nothing has upset Ant more through the entire recovery process than the prospect of lisa leaving him, which has been a very real fear.’
it seems as though, during his time away from his loved ones, Ant has understood just how difficult it has been for not only him, but for lisa too.
For the past six months, lisa has defended claims that her marriage is over by constantly flashing her wedding ring and sharing tweets insisting that she is not ‘estranged’ from her husband.
And our source revealed that only now does Ant realise just how much lisa has gone through. however, it’s clear that Ant has a long way to go before gaining lisa’s forgiveness, which is exactly why he is planning a big surprise for his wife.

A friend close to the presenter says Ant wants to show lisa just how much he loves her, adding, ‘he wants to make a grand gesture. not just a fancy holiday or something expensive, but a real demonstration of exactly how much he cares.’

But it seems as though the couple have worked a way around that problem, our source revealing, ‘Ant is speaking regularly with lisa on the phone. they’re making a real effort to keep in touch despite the time difference and being worlds apart.’
And Ant has another trick up his sleeve that will win lisa over, with our source saying that he is now ready to compromise his busy work schedule for the sake of their marriage. the couple’s desire to have children has been well documented, but as yet has not come to fruition – which Ant is desperate to change.
Previously, Ant opened up about the couple’s wish to have children and the struggles they’ve faced, saying, ‘We’d love to have kids. We’re trying. it’s tougher than you think when you get a bit older.’
our source says it’s also playing heavily on 41-year-old lisa’s mind. ‘Ant is prepared to put everything on the line to try and give lisa the baby she craves. the prospect of not having a family of their own feels unbearable, but either way he wants to spend his life with lisa, and that means getting things back on track.’
