Ruth Langsford: ‘Eamonn’s getting on my nerves’, plus this week’s showbiz stories
We’re used to seeing Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes bickering when they present telly together, but she’s revealed life at home can also get quite tense at times!
Eamonn recently took to Instagram to share a quote that read, ‘She loved him. But when she heard him chew, she fantasised about his death.’ And he wrote alongside the snap, ‘This is an actual thing in our house. Mrs Holmes suffers from a condition which makes her sensitive to me even breathing. And I hear other couples may be similar.’
Quick to respond, Ruth, 60, reposted the image and Eamonn’s comments, adding, ‘She really did! Anyone else?’
Although clearly a joke between the married couple – and their millions of Instagram followers – Ruth has opened up previously about her husband’s bad habits.
Before she and Eamonn were replaced on This Morning by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’leary, Ruth used one episode of the show to talk about Eamonn’s noisy eating.
She said, ‘It probably is because I have this misophonia thing, so every little noise irritates me. Yesterday, I was over the other side of the kitchen, you were sitting down at the dining room table – I was miles away from you – and you were eating grapes. How can I hear you eating grapes from that distance unless you’re chomping? There was noise.’
To which Eamonn simply responded, ‘There’s something wrong with you, seriously. It’s not me, it’s you.’
Oh dear, Eamonn – you’d better watch out!
