The fit

True to size but quite narrow; they felt snug and supportive around the mid foot which at first was great, but rubbed a little after a while.

The comfort

The ankle support is fantastic! It’s cushioned and soft but not too rigid, which means no rubbing at all. However, the narrow toe box is quite restrictive and quickly irritated the outer blade of my foot. The extra support in the inner arch is great while you are running because it really helps to push the foot out so you don’t run like a duck.

Who and what they’re for

These are definitely for your speedy runs. They are super lightweight and snug which was particularly good for uphill sprints as it didn’t feel like I was being dragged back at all.

On the run

I did a mix of treadmill and outdoor runs and felt varying results from the shoe. As a heel-dominant runner, I found the decrease in cushioning (a drop of 10mm) too sharp for my running. On the treadmill runs, this made me feel a little flat footed and I had to focus on changing how I ran to get the most out of the cushioned heel to push off. On the road, I was pleasantly surprised by how springy these shoes felt and they really helped push me forward uphill.

Should you buy them?

It depends! If you are looking for a speedy shoe and are more prone to running on your heel, then yes,100%. A great shoe for all distances and really springy uphill. It’s also pretty good value, considering the usual price point for shoes of this calibre. If you strike more with your toes and don’t want to be changing that or don’t like your toes being squished too much, I’d say steer clear.
